[SOLVED] LP switching off every time click windows start

Every time I click the start menu (either via touch screen or using a mouse) the LP seems to immediately power off - screen goes black, no lights on the LP.

It's been about a decade since I last used Windows so no idea if that is normal behaviour or not?
