Arduino under Ubuntu
I wonder if anyone has had any success in getting Arduino IDE to work under Ubuntu.
I've just obtained a LattePanda 2GB/32GB which I've upgraded to Ubuntu 16.04 using the binary on the LP website. All seemed to be working until I tried to install the Arduino IDE.
I understand that the IDE in the Ubuntu repository is not up to date so I downloaded and installed Arduino IDE 1.8.9 from the Arduino website. I have previously used this under Ubuntu on a PC but it will not work on the LattePanda. The IDE starts initially, and then displays at the bottom Initializing Packages... and then Preparing Boards... and then Starting... However, after a few seconds, the Arduino window disappears and the IDE is not displayed.
Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
