[DEFECTIVE] Request for RMA for defective Alpha 864/S no longer powers on

Purchased my Apha via Kickstarter pledged on 1/31/18 Backer number 1,978. Unit was received and worked ok for about 30 days running off of the USB power supply provided with the unit. Then suddenly stopped working similar to other units. Board showed signed of a hole burnt into one IC near the power supply input. I am not asking for free replacement as I am well pat 90 days but wanting to know if I can pay for a repair of the unit? I really loved this unit but it seems fell issue to the same usb C power issues many have complained of.
