LattePanda Alpha Bios with Touch Driver Embedded For Ubuntu
We know there are many Linux developers on the forum, but the inability to use the touch feature of our official 7-inch touch screen has been holding developers back after they installed Ubuntu on LattePanda Alpha. Now we released an updated BIOS version specially designed for Ubuntu with the touch driver embedded.
Compatible Models:
Alpha m3-8100y KR300: LattePanda Alpha 800s and LattePanda Alpha 864s(If the SN number of your Alpha is S70KR310, you don't need to update the BIOS after installing Ubuntu)
Alpha m3-7y30: LattePanda Alpha 800 and LattePanda Alpha 864
Preparation:
1.LattePanda Alpha(Alpha 8100Y, please backup the activation key if you are using the LattePanda Alpha activated version.)
2.USB flash Drive (Formatted as FAT32)
3.Keyboard
4.Display (7-inch touch screen does not support hot plu-unplug. Please install it before power on)
5.Download BIOS file
LattePanda Alpha 8100Y(S/N number: KR300 version)
LattePanda Alpha 7Y30
Instructions:
1. Copy BIOS file to the root directory of USB flash drive;
2. Insert the USB flash drive and start the system;
3. Press “ESC” to enter BIOS menu;
4. Navigate to Save & Exit-->UEFI: Built-in EFI Shell-->Enter; Ubuntu BIOS with Touch driver embedded 1.png (798.53 KiB) Viewed 15356 times 5. Press ”Tab” to choose BIOS.nsh (or enter “BIOS.nsh” manually), then Press "Enter" and the BIOS will start to update automatically. Wait until you see”Update BIOS done! “ Ubuntu BIOS with Touch driver embedded 4.png (519.15 KiB) Viewed 15356 times 8.Unplug the USB flash drive and restart it. (shortcut key to restart: Ctl+Alt+Delete)
After updating the BIOS, it takes some time to initialize the first time to boot your Alpha. Please wait patiently for a few minutes.

If you still cannot use the touch screen after the update, please shut down and unplug the power cord, then repower and start the device.
