Second Power supply that fails after a power off!!!! Is that normal?

I have Ubuntu installed in my Panda and just issued the command "sudo shutdown"
After this, I wasn't able to turn it on again and turns out that the power supply is broken, that is a few weeks after the same happened with the one that came with the device.
Is some kind of issue that is blowing up my power supplies during a power down???
If that is the case, is there a workaround for avoid it in the future???
