USB mouse/keyboard to USB hub standalone or in monitor
Hi all,
Setting up my second LP, this time an Alpha 864. Like to keep things as simple as possible, but I’m running into an issue with the mouse and keyboard. It seems the LP only accepts direct USB connections, and not through an USB hub?
Direct attach using one USB port each for keyboard and mouse, no issues. But using a non powered 4 x USB hub doesn’t work.
The end solution would be using my Dell U2520D monitor. USB C connected to and powering Lenovo laptop, mouse and keyboard in 2x downstream ports. Works. Display works.
LP Alpha connected to the same powered USB C port: no display, no working mouse and keyboard, only powering the LP.
When connecting the LP with HDMI and using iLP power adapter with USB C port: again no response from keyboard and mouse. Makes sense, so tried attaching another USB cable, a A to C. But again, mouse, keyboard don’t work.
So how do I get this to work. In the end, I would really want to connect both laptop and LP to the same monitor, and by switching the input the mouse and keyboard should follow.
