i2c on Lattepanda 432 (ubuntu)

Hello, 

I am trying to connect a i2c sensor for which I have an Arduino Library to the I2C port of the Lattepanda Delta 3. Unfortunately I can't seem to read anything coming from the sensor. Is there a specific I2C driver I need to install in order to connect to the sensor? Does I2C work only with the Windows IOT OS?

Even a simple test that could help me communicate with the sensor would be greatly appreciated.
