Loading Linux on Lattepanda: Process?

My interest lies in acquiring a Lattepanda, albeit it ships with Win10, a system I wish to avoid. While there's discussion about loading Linux, I'm unsure of the process before placing an order. Does anyone possess knowledge about loading Linux onto a Lattepanda? Unlike with a Pi, where you simply insert a new SD card with an OS image, it seems the process may not be as straightforward. Any insights into the intricacies involved would be greatly appreciated.
