Installing Diet-pi in Lattepanda v1

I have been trying to install Diet-Pi image(Native PC for UEFI) in my Lattepanda v1 (4Gb/64GB). Followed the instructions as mentioned in the diet-pi site, however the USB drive is never detected by Lattepanda during boot. tried different ways of flashing the image to USB drive, but no luck.

However, If I flash the USB drive with Windows 10 image, the drive is recognised by Lattepanda- boot order and I can install windows 10.

Has anyone tried installing diet-pi in lattepanda with success?
