I received my new heat sinks yesterday, and just tinkered around with them:
For reference: 40x32mm heat sink, small raspi-heat sink, 5V fan
Your fan seems to be a 2-pin one. can you tell us where to connect it? -
You Reply: @seipekm, are you still around and able to answer my questions?
Cheers.

You Reply: Indeed it says 12v on the fan's packaging. I suppose I should have purchased a 5v one but did not see any on eBay...

You Reply: I bought a 40mm silent case fan for my LP. I plugged it into the 1st 3-pin 5v connector and the fan just about feebly vibrated. On the second connector, no reaction at all from the fan. Which connector should I be using, what is wrong?

Hi
I have it in my basket and was almost buying a printout of it from Thingiverse. Then I looked at your links for the pins and heatsink and they are all in German. Can you point me to a link where I could purchase those parts in the UK? -

While the LP has been stable for me, I'm not too happy with the high temps especially since it hasn't been hot weather.
The 'shield' (Really a Heat Spreader) will conduct the heat from the processor and spread it out over a larger surface area which is a good thing. Because of this, I decided to install the mini heatsinks directly on to the spreader.
I have some copper ones (commonly used on RPi) and an aluminium one, now as we all know copper is a much better conductor for heat. I still decided to use the aluminium one as it should at the very least help (I used one in my router which was overheating, and ever since there hasn't been any issues).
I also have the LP sitting on a small fan which is powered by USB (it's very quiet).
I don't quite understand how a fan underneath the case dissipates the heat. Is it blowing cold air inside the case or trying to absorb the hot air from the inside? -

You could take a look at AliExpress - this is where I get all my "low performance equipment" from.
Link to AliExpress, just search for "raspberry pi heat sink" and you'll be in heat sink heaven

Edit:
I also found a 40x32mm heat sink there. Should fit perfectly on the LP's heat spreader / shielding plates.
Do you mean that it would be OK to stick a heatsink directly on the metal plate rather than remove it first? -
You Reply: There are loads on eBay too. Just make sure they're not coming from China, they'll take for ever to get to you!

Thanks. I've tried with all 3usb ports. It must be some sort of configuration problem. Interesting that I am not the only one with this isssue... -

Managed to get the cpu to drop by 10 / 15c see vid above
Hi Mate. Just watched your video carefully. Useful info, thank you for this. I have just a couple of questions:
-I am only intending on using the LattePanda as a media server and player for my TV, is it still at risk of overheating?
-Have you tried comparing temperatures with your fitted heatsinks but the case the right way up to see if it gives middle ground temperatures?
Cheers for that again. -
You Reply: F7 is the one. But the device does not see my USB drive as a boot option. It's a Norton Ghost recovery USB stick which I have used many times before to boot from. The BIOS though, does see the USB drive. Any idea?
