  • You Reply: Mac, did you open the connector on the LP, slide the ribbon in and then close the connector? It should hold the ribbon tightly ...
  • You Reply: Why oh why can’t a LP designer chime in here. Some one laid out the board, someone must know what was included and what was not..

Thanks for the rigorous work CCS!!

  • You Reply: One more thing, this is a 100mm ribbon.. —it is short! Not much room to set the LP where I’d really like it. Go longer unless you want the LP really close to the bottom of the screen.

  • You Reply: I’ve got my 17” eDp lcd panel to work. ! Tricky part was figuring out what ribbons were necessary and how to operate the connectors.. I bought a 17.3” replacement lcd from amazon:

I found ribbons on aliexpress. You need 30 pin, .5mm pitch, with the correct gold connector on one end (IPEX, I believe), and the bare plated ribbons on the other. I bought one “a” and one “b”. One version has the top side ribbon exposed, other version has the bottom side exposed (relative to the metal connector). So one type reverses the connection order. Not sure which is which and don’t know which one I actually used to get it working, but see the picture and you will know which you need to find. They both came in one package weeks after I ordered them, once again study the pics to get your bearings.
One thing that I do know now, is that pin 30 marked on the LCD must connect to the side of the connector on the latte panda that says “touch”. (See pics again)

So yeah it’s working, no bios changes or drivers etc, happy. My screen does have a few dead pixels curiously in the shape of letters “dB”, I’ll give that to the fact that yeah it’s China, these discount screens didn’t make prime time, so the factory owners brother sells them on Amazon. No big deal for me. • You Reply: I have a panel here and cables coming in a week or so. When I get it up and running (fingers crossed!) I’ll post some pics etc etc..

  • You Reply: BUMP!!

Greg I have the same two questions. External power switch connection and eDP panel and cable requirements.. ??

    any help, LattePanda Team?

    thanks

  • You Reply: Thomas, did you use any particular eDP cable? Shouldn't every eDP LCD work, isn't that the point of having the eDP port on the board?

I am asking these questions because I really want to build my LPA in a tablet format (without touch screen), and using a laptop LCD (eDP) would be the perfect solution. Dont want to spend $50 on something that wont work. .

So, is there such a thing as a generic eDP cable? and shouldn't all eDP displays just work?

    thanks a lot
