Update #3 - Power
We decided to remove the reset button for now due to concerns with data corruption. For the first prototype of the console, we will just be using a power on/off button.
We'll soon be mounting the button to a board and building the key that depresses it.

Only a few more weeks until we have a physical prototype ready. Photos and video to come.
This power button looks like quite special, different from general low cost button in the market. Does it have a complete different crisp pressing experience? -

Hello All,
This is a BATTERY CONNECTOR, so that you can use 7.4V(2s) battery to power your Alpha, we will release detailed info and tutorial later.
When we printed the user manual, we still haven't determined whether we can add the interface, so there is a missing information.
How is that tutorial coming along? I would be really interested about more info of that battery connector, is 7.4V 2S Li-Po battery really enough to power the Alpha? Is the connector 10pin JST XH 2.0mm type or something else? What is the pin layout in it? Because of the 10 pins, I assume there is balance charging included?
Most helpful info would be the exact type of the connector, pin layout and maybe diagram of battery wiring to the Alpha
It looks like a 10p connector. So I think it's definitely a balance charging connector! -

Do you have an idea if (and when) the wifi could be available,
or is it definitively not possible with the wifi chipset of the lattepanda alpha ?
I think the onboard wifi support is not an easy job. A second M.2 wifi module or USB wifi module will be great and ready to go. -

Adding a third M.2 slot for further PCI expansion, or allowing the user to self-upgrade to DDR3/DDR4, would be a step(s) in the right direction, I think. Maybe even adding Thunderbolt support, eh?
Really!? How can I do that? Using the Intel Optane? -

So my experience was:
The way that i found out that my board was on the country, was because customs contacted me, demanding money. By the way, i got slamed with quite a heavy importation VAT tariff. Nearly U$70!
Not cool, but, in the end, i got it.
How is everything? Did you hand on it already? Just think if I should buy one! -
You Reply: Interesting project. Looks like that Cosmo is Android based system. Though technically, LattePanda works with Android. But official team didn't support that. I just saw some test like Phoenix OS and Remix on LattePanda. Not sure if it works perfectly.

@6zayn, agree! But the size of USB dongle is annoying...Not that good for packaging everything to a compact design.
Exactly what I think that a GSM module connected via the arduino would be a better solution.
I recently bought the classic LP for a portable station I'm working on, so right now I'm just waiting for the arrival.
Any easy to use and cost affordable GSM module recommended? -

Can you link where this tutorial is? I'm trying to access the arduino pins, but the IDE doesn't show any available serial ports.
Actually there're more video tutorials via youtube also, I remember there're some tips to make it available. Let me know if it helps. -

You Reply: You can consider to check the Arduino IDE on Linux tutorial to reach the interface. I think there's no compatibility issue!

You Reply: @thespecificocean, haha sounds like Intel computer card. Did you check this product before? It's more like a consumer product in my view when compact interface and complete product design style.

You Reply: @nniikkii88, your project sounds pretty interesting! Is there any video about that?
-
You Reply: Right. I have some experience on building a weather station with LattePanda. Do you have some photos about your project? ;p
-
You Reply: I think a GSM dongle via USB will be the best solution or you can go with this arduino pinout shield (https://www.dfrobot.com/product-1660.html) compatible with LattePanda and providing enough extra power for extensions.
What's your application? -

You Reply: Dear Soho, I think you own several LattePanda boards already. So I will recommend u to contact with the vendor to provide the replacement directly for your case, if you can use the same display and HDMI cable properly with other panda boards in hand.
